Thank you!

Here’s one of many stories of how God has provided for our needs that I’d like to share:

Earlier this Spring, I flew down to Orlando to attend a church planting conference.  After the conference, I returned to the Orlando airport for the second leg of my journey to meet Holly and visit several of our friends and extended family in Texas.  After unsuccessfully trying to get on an earlier flight to Dallas, I finally boarded my scheduled flight to DFW .  On that flight from Orlando to Dallas, I sat next to a husband and wife, John and Sharon, who were returning to Dallas after vacationing in Florida.  We struck up a conversation, and I talked with John for the better part of the flight.   He worked for a large construction company that supplied concrete for the new Texas Stadium, so we talked about football, and family,  and eventually I came to find out he and his wife were solid Christ followers.

I told them of how God was leading us to Ireland this fall, and the church plant we would be serving with.  As the flight ended, John gave me his business card and told me to send him our prayer card.  It was another month or two before we had even finished our prayer and support postcards, but after we had, I found his card buried in my wallet.  I sent them a postcard, not even knowing if he would remember who I was.  A couple months passed…I didn’t think anything of it, again, I didn’t even know that he would remember a few minutes of conversation with a stranger (i.e. me) several months prior.  Well, a couple weeks ago, I received an email, with a handwritten note scanned as an attachment.  I love hand written notes – scanned, mailed, or otherwise – so that was a great encouragement to me.  Additionally, a check that they had sent to our mission agency for $2,400 was included.  We were floored by their generosity, and the amazing ways God is providing!  God has blessed us with supporters who have been life long friends or family, and he has also blessed us with people we’ve only met once and shared an hour with.

Thank you, John and Sharon.

Sunday service & lunch :)

23 Aug

For any of our friends and family in the Eau Claire area: we will be sharing at The Bridge Church this upcoming Sunday (8/29) about our ministry opportunities in Ireland.  The service starts at 10:00 a.m., and meets at the CVTC auditorium (620 W. Clairmont Ave.).  Jon will also be preaching during the service, and we would love to see any familiar faces if you have the chance to join us.

Afterward, friends from our church have graciously offered to host a lunch following the service (11:45 ?) where we will be able to share more.  Details and directions to the luncheon will be given at the service, or contact us directly for more information if you can’t make the service but wish to join us for lunch.

September 12th

We have two HUGE praises… we’ve found renters for our house and we bought plane tickets! Our official leave date is Sunday, September 12th. Renting our house has definitely been a rollercoaster journey the past two months, thank you so much for praying!

24 Jul

Just a quick update… we have had a lot of interest in our house and have had 6 showings in the past week.  Hopefully will have a new lease signed in the next 5 days!  Keeping the house clean all the time is very tiring!

In other news, Greta & Addie are now proud US Passport owners.  Who wouldn’t let these sweet girls through customs? ;)

A small bump in the road…

9 Jul

We received word today that 2 of the 3 guys who are supposed to rent our house starting September 1st lost their jobs.  So we are now re-posting our house to rent.  Please pray that:

1 – our previous renters will find new employment in the area and still be able to fulfill the rental contract

or

2 – we will be able to find new renters in the next few weeks.

Thank you for your prayers!

Welcome…

Thanks for visiting our site !  As we move to Ireland soon, we hope to continue to share updates and pictures of the journey God is taking us on.  We have posted a few more details about us, who we will be serving with, and where will be moving to.  We look forward to keeping in contact with you, and your prayers are greatly appreciated.  If you are led to partner with us financially, information on where support may be received is included.   We are excited to have you join us in the new story God is writing in Ireland.

In Christ,

Jon & Holly Peters
